I went to Spain in 2004 and one of my favorite photos (well besides the party gutter!) was of this church. I didn't remember what it was called until my friend Dara posted photos of it today, it's in Barcelona and is called the Sacred family Temple. What makes this part that I photographed so special is its one of the only places where Jesus is depicted on a horizontal cross instead of a vertical standing one.
It's also notable that the guards look like the dudes in star wars.

this is one I took at a fountain. I also forget the name and city but it plays music and the water goes along to the music. I remember being slightly disappointed that a lot of the music was in English! I also remember a side comment from CA about how this was a romantic spot and how I blew it off at the time but then spent far too long wondering if he meant anything by it.
Oh man! The Spanish sure know how to party! I can't beleive we spotted this treasure of a gutter, but I HAD to take a picture!
And this last one I have on my wall is a painter capturing a plaza area perfectly. One of the best parts about spain was the art- art was everywhere!!

this is a small painting I bought on one of the last days in an outdoor market with lots of vendors. I bought a few, wish I would have bought more. They were originally supposed to be gifts but I never could part with any of them!
That outdoor place was also where I bought a necklace I still wear sometimes.. but am too lazy to go get to take a pic of :)
Well I guess I have one more thing from Spain on my walls - This is a painting I bought in Ronda, Spain the second time I visited. My sister was studying abroad there, so this would have been in 2006. It looks like a real painting but it's actually a print and then someone added texture to it, but I love it!
And I also have a sword that is hella sweet that I got in Spain.. but I can't get a good pic of it without me in it and I look like crap. slept farr too much last night and it was wonderful! After a crazy busy day of tests, I deserved it!
Sooo.. This blog isn't actually that long because it's mostly photos.. but I'm gonna keep rambling because something really exciting happened! through the amazingness of Craigslist I found a home! that's right folks, I won't be homeless next year! The house is super close to campus, the girls seem amazing and the address ends in 1/2 (how amazing is that!) There are some downsides, I would be sharing the attic room, which sounds a lot worse than it is!
I really want to make a may day basket and ding dong ditch them and say 'can I be your roomie?' but I'm not sure if I'm that brave. I feel kinda like its a fancy way to ask someone to prom.. I'm not sure if they're the type to appreciate it or think I'm crazy.
also - It's the last day of BEDA. I will continue to post of course because I am addicted to the idea of the B-log.
and, words of affirmation are kinda the best thing ever.. I asked a friend , who is a guy, about the whole if he hasn't called thing. and this was a much more charming and kind answer that I ever would have expected. thanks PC.
'If i was really interested in a girl, i would have asked for her number and called her...i don't think you should waste your time on a guy like this when there is a ton of other great guys out there. You will find the perfect guy eventually and you will know it because he will want to talk and hang out with you"
boys sometimes don't realize that their input, especially when it comes to matters of the heart, can be so appreciated. The feeling of having these guys (AR was actually way helpful too! even if his advice was to in nicer words, grow a pair and text him) encouraging or giving me advice is currently better than having an actual boy.
And either way, it was a fun night. So I might text him, but my heart will be more guarded. I'm going out tonight, so maybe he'll get a text to come accompany me and buy me drinks :)

What is it in our DNA that makes us freak out so much when a boy doesn't call right away?
I should have listened to "He's just not that into you" and not given out my number. We have mutual friends. He could have found me easily or gotten my number from Jen if he actually wanted to call me. But I was tipsy and my simple decline to not give my number was quickly overturned by just a bit of persuasion.
It would just be better to try to hang out again through them and not put it up to one or the other to call them. Grr! Yesterday was so happy just remembering how fun wednesday was and how I felt hot, to put it bluntly.
I hate technology and free time. I already facebook stalked and googled him. I'm a creeper.
I had a good night. if I don't get called, whatever. it was fun. I got a free drink out of it. if we see each other again - I'm not gonna be a girl about it and be all upset he didn't call. for my own good, I need to not think about this and just let things go like they will.
I'm also not sure if this is the same guy jen tried to set me up with earlier and then i freaked about it. man, I suck. i just want a boy for a little while. I like having someone to dance with. I like having someone to talk to. I like this boy.
Love and Jackie O,

note: If I would have put more effort into this, I would have realized I had the light on the wrong side. dangit.

kisses&disses
Kisses:
tonight was great. book sale. cheesy romance novels. free ice cream. zen zero pad thai. sister. friends. walking down mass. more ice cream. more walking. frisbee. swinging. good flowing conversation.
how I have realized that you don't have to tell everyone everything. talking things out is good.. but sometimes it gets out of hand.
Disses:
I meant to spend from about 6-11 studying, not having friends. so I still have some work to do :(
90-10, guys. 90-10.
love and ice cream cones,

"Like five or 6 girls from *insert sorority here* said they were coming (to my bday) but you two are the only ones who did! thanks! I'm drunk"-KP
that was basically part of the convo from the bar. My friend and sister (yes, i still claim sister.)
I'm dropping my sorority. but that doesn't mean i love any of them less. i love that i met all these girls. i can't imagine not knowing some of them.
maybe it's because 'supporting a sister' is supposed to mean more than not making time to go to a birthday party.
maybe it's because of other things too. but really, dont say you'll be somewhere and not.
maybe its just hard because we dont have a house. and dont see each other as often as we should. i miss my girls. i do. but if i made an effort, I hope they would still want to hang out with me. but i like the freedom of not being in a sorority. the way people approve of me more even if its because of misconceptions of sorority life. I dont know.. i just like this semester a lot. im trying harder to be a good person instead of just going through the motions.
ya. tipsy ramblings. but still.

last night was awesome. bars, friends, boys, and jacuzzi. how much better can it get?
saw:
JA- jump on the bandwagon. thats not going anywhere. its a bandbox

tonight : Kali's bday and/or angry telephone concert :)
gosh, what an articulate post! and yes, the sleeping was due to staying out late.. i didnt even get tipsy.. tho i may have acted it! too busy takin care of the bday girl :)
edit/ work was good, made an okay amount of tips - some of which i plan on spending tonight at the bars again!
im in a mood. what kind of mood i'm not sure. it was bad-ish earlier because my eyes were being allergic and i was just tired - but caffeine helped and now im feeling allright. about to go run with a guy i met at a party last year - oh the wonders of facebook statuses. might run a 5k sunday.
have a good night all. love the life you live.
and love the people you love. that sounds dumb, but really. let people know you appreciate them. I'm reading the 5 love languages book<< see sidebar. I've looked at the 5 love languages model a lot since my sister read the book a few years ago. .. its an awesome thing about how people absorb love in different ways. If their love language is touch, a hug could mean the world.. or if it isn't... it could just be a motion or an unwanted gesture. even if you would appreciate a hug, they might now.. idk.. I'll write more about it later.

BEDA 15
Today I was far too productive! Burned pictures onto a CD from my cousins wedding (in october of 2007) to send to her. And then burned a CD of pictures for my sorority sister who moved after freshman year and then lost all her photos - her mom asked us to send her photos and even gave us CDs to send them on. I forgot. that was 2 years ago. Wow, I suck. I'm blaming most of it on the whole not having a working CD drive for 3 years thing...
In 2004 I went on a school trip to Spain for 10 days. There was a group from Kansas (us, we had about 30 kids) a group from oregon (they had about 12, 1 boy, 11 girls!) and another group who wasn't important. All together about 50 high schoolers traveling around together.
So let's do a brief summary of the wednesday night discoteca (on the 2nd or 3rd day of the trip) and then skip through to the airport.
At this point one of the girls broke down. She had been homesick almost the whole trip (except for when she got drunk for the first time ever on the sangria we made!) and had had so many problems like not being able to use her card, so her parents had to send money to her and they were closed or something and she didnt have any money the first half of the trip.. anyways.. she broke down about how she just wanted to go home and we were all behind her, some of the other girls were starting to tear up too- it was an emotional trip, a stressful day.
I love good memories. Now off to run and nike+it up! i love my touch!edit/ I ran 3 miles, gearing up to hopefully do a 5k on sunday if I can find someone to run it with me -todays time: 35 min. and I can do better, i walked a lot. but i definitely got a workout!!! it was so nice outside that I laid out afterwards and read a book, it was awesome.
also - today is KW's 21st so we will hopefully go out in about 45 minutes for a drink or 2 :) too bad she has homework :( and I do too! off to finish my wall street journal articles, I'm proud of the ones I found!

BEDA14th Kira.
I like watching trippy fashion show videos from russia.
This is a story about a random happenstance making me want to research a crazy concept.
Last summer I was in California with my cousin (12), her friend and her mom on a yearly trip we take to the LA gift show. It was our shopping day where we spend a lot of time in shops we can't afford but that sometimes have things on sale and are also just uper fun to look at !
So This day we saw a paparazzi and asked it he had seen anyone famous lately. That morning he had seen Katherine Heigl! except he pronounced it Hee-gull.
Then a bit later on the same street we saw him and a few other photographers outside of a shop. My cousin and I decided to investigate and there was a young pretty girl talking to some customers and looking around. I had my 12 year old cousin investigate by asking the cashier who she was -- She's the designer! We were in a Kira Plastinina store and this was Kira!
so cool! so we talked to her and I got a pic of my cousin and her friend with Kira, we bought a few things and left.
The store layout was really cool and it was surprisingly affordable, but the best part was the packaging. I bought a necklace and they put it in a Kira box and the little tank top I bought was put into a huge beautiful bag with hearts on it.
the dark pink bag is the one I got
So how does this 16 year old have her own fashion line? When I got home I put on my detective hat to find out.
Long story short: It turns out her dad is a bazillionaire because of orange juice.
Orange juice concentrate to be exact. It wasn't available in russia and he thought it would sell. it did. a lot.
And so he can afford to help finance a fashion line for his daughter and she has over 70 stores in Russia and had 12 newly opened in the USA and a few in other places too!
And now KP of USA filed for bankruptcy.
This is really the first thing the 'hard economic times' have done to affect me. They took away my new favorite, affordable, Californian botique where I could buy things and say 'I met her!' when people asked about it! and I lost the tank.
and on a sidenote: my cousin is adorable and still tags kira, her facebook friend now!, in notes and stuff on facebook.

BEDA13
Day started out with a missed class (really bad! i need to not miss that classss!!) then I proceeded to watch DVR because I cannot function in my house without breakfast (no milk) especially when my room is messy and I don't want to be in it.
note to self: clean room, pay for DVR.
Then around noon I finally got out - to find not only my ipod touch but also a holder so I can put a nike+ sensor on my regular un-nike+ shoe!
then signs to study/play with the touch and then work (an allright tipping night and even more in paycheck yess!)
My best discovery on the touch came about 10 hours after I got it - how to turn it off. I'm an idiot that it took so long! haha
any suggestions for some free apps I can get? I already got the kindle thing and downloaded some dumb books - so any free kindle suggestions would be great too!
hope your day is as boringly awesome as mine was! hopefully tomorrow will be more productive and possibly I'll think of something more blogworthy to talk about!

BEDA 12th - easter and depressing story, sorry1
My sister ape twittered about this
It's about a little girl who died. and her dad is gonna be talking about it on oprah or something.
The thing about it that makes it even sadder (if seeing a 16 month old die isn't sad enough) is that her mother blogged.
The entries I skimmed through were full of photos, positive comments, and hopes.
The hopes were the hardest. the unfulfilled statements hoping for a future.
"I'm going to have so much fun styling this kids hair!" "future DG!"
But it also makes it easy to remember her. remembering the little moments and being able to share those moments! I love when mothers blog because then you can see just how proud they are of their little kids and I just wish my mom had that detailed of records of my life - and not just oh remember that one time when I think this is how it happened...
kinda rambly and depressing blog for today - sorry about that :P

BEDA 10th
This writing everyday thing really isn't hard for me. I love writing. I'm going to do the whole - write 10 things to 10 people, don't say who they are.
1) Just so you know, I didn't want to be too serious, I just thought dating you would be fun and now I'm afraid, however nice you are when I see you, that I scared you away. I believe since you haven't made any effort to hang out lately, that I did just that. I'm not closing any doors though. I'm pretty picky, door closing shouldn't be an option. and yes, I noticed you didn't smoke the other day. I think you're a great guy. miss you.
2) I feel as if I barely know you and as if I could talk to you about anything. Every time I talk to you, you put the biggest smile on my face. You are an amazing person and I hope I know you fo'eva. (forever ever? yes. forever ever.) love you.
3)I don't believe you when I ask what's up and you say nothing. You got upset when I said that I was sad and felt like I didn't have anyone to talk to, but every time I try to talk to you -- you let me talk. but you don't talk back. I have trust issues, and I want you to trust that I want to hear about your life too. love you.
4)Let's drunk hot tub again. I feel like we're drifting apart and I don't know if its because I went crazy for a little while, or if it's just stuff going on in your life. I miss you and I miss talking to you about everything and about nothing (the nothing usually included many crude jokes.) love you.
5)I forgive you. I'd be okay if you talked to me again, i think.
6) I hope you're healthier now. what happened to hanging out? love you.
7)you're the best. love you.
8) I think your job is stupid. but whatev.
9) thanks for thinking of this beda thing. kinda a community of bloggers. i like.
10) to two people: you are the coolest set o brothers I know. thanks for everything.

Impulse buys. oh my. So I bid on something on ebay. I can afford it with my own money, and I want it... but I was hoping to find a better deal. oops. there goes most of my spring break paycheck I receive on monday! haha Let's just call it an easter present to myself.
edit////
Today I bought way too many things. I like things. I got a new job about 2 months ago and have more disposable income that I have ever had. So I have gone on a few small shopping sprees for myself. today was the biggest.
got this bible. The cashier man @signs said his daughter has this one and if she tries to talk to someone about christianity and they don't want to hear it - she can hit them with it, lovingly. (it's metal) uhm.. cool? I used to have this bible when I was first in high school and I loved it, highlighted it, etc. and I lost it.
but onto the big purchase! A touch!
I'm far too excited.
I can have apps!
and nike+sport!
and kindle!!!!!
got any app recommendations? (I don't plan on buying any or at least many. I want free :) )
I have never had an ipod that wasn't a shuffle! I had a first generation (I dropped it in the lake.) so I got a 2nd gen,and plan to continue using it or maybe lend it to mi madre so she can learn how to use an ipod. She doesn't want one, just wants to know how to use it.
this is my ipod shuffle case, it's on my keys and it opens bottles, what more could you ask for???? I has silver shuffle, green case.
p.s.

BEDA8th
One more day of BEDAone more re-designed blog.
one more thing i hope people will want to read.
one more beautiful day.
The cutest thing OTD:

The sun is shining through the window at my favorite coffee venue. I was staring out at the row of shops when I saw a little boy pass by.
He was a toddler in a brightly colored dinosaur tee and he paused at the railing around the outside patio of the shop. He reached his hand through, slowly, delicately, to see if there was a barrier in between the railings. Finding that there wasn't, he reached through and waved quickly at the two students sitting at the metal tables, moving along back and forth with his hand reaching a few inches into the patio area. As he proudly waved, his bright smile was contagious and clearly boasted "look what I discovered!"

Children are adorable.
a new favorite blogger- books and quills- i like her style and that she made me laugh in the first second I was on her page with a funny picture about how she grades her students' tests. what's your BEDA about today?
observation : I hate it when hot boys pull out the cigarettes. gross.
I have a psychology test tomorrow am- about skitzophrenia, eating disorders, add/adhd, tourettes, autism, aspergers, etc etc. wish me luck
