Sometimes I want to twitter something.. and for various reasons I don't, or I know one person will enjoy it way more than others. So I want to text it to someone- but it isn't in direction to them like normal texts, its just random thoughts . I wanna ILOF it.

a pretty good monday.

Sitting at my kitchen table at home (the home I grew up in and one that rarely feels as such lately.) But when I woke up this morning (ok, I admit.. this afternoon) There was a bowl of grapes and all the best parts of the KC Star separated out for me. and it felt like home.

I know I make resolutions at the beginning of all things new. but I've made one this morning for 1247 1/2. (the house I will move into soon for this next school year. where I'll be living with people who are basically strangers.) I resolve to have open honest communication with all of them. to never go to bed mad at one of them. and to make them one breakfast, one lunch, and one dinner per month. It might be waffles or just some fresh fruit for breakfast. simple sandwiches for lunch or maybe some JDel, and probably a classic one of my recipes (hamburger soup, pork chops etc) for dinner. something simple, but I think they will appreciate it. And I think if we all make an effort to make each others lives better, and not just our own.. then it will be a home.

I also am really liking Pandora, I should get my own account because I'm still using someone else's who signed in on my computer. When we were in Apron Strings (a cutesy kitchen store in Hutch, KS) they were playing Pandora - a station made of songs similar to Duffy

I'm still watching this video - I love the imagery. It's bright and summery and I love the part where she's running and dancing. I so do that :) when no one is watching! haha that's why I like running in the dark or not on the street :)

Also. Today is a big day. I'm wearing an AGD shirt for the first time since I officially quit. It seems little, but half my wardrobe disappeared into storage that day, and I'm finally being okay with wearing it again.

ok - for those who actually read this as a life update. these are the important facts.

1. I'm living @ my sister's place for the rest of July and then moving into 1247 1/2 (house close to campus w/ strangers who all seem awesome!) in August
2. I have my 1st boyfriend! (as my sister puts it: guess who is a girlfriend??? my sister! )
3. I'm still working @JDel and loving it.
4. I'm taking a Psyc class over the summer @edwardscampus (and running into classmates @PowerAndLight.. that was weird! haha)
5. I twitter too much which causes me to overuse the @ sign.
6. Softball season w/ JDel is over - we lost. a lot. but I'm glad I did it. good memories were made. (It's a dude!! It's a chick!!)
7. Life is almost prefect right now. I need some more hours in the day and really should diversify with the people I'm hanging out with. I miss a lot of people from school (esp bop it!) and wish it was easier to hang out with everyone.
8. I am officially no longer in my sorority, also really wondering how I'm going to deal with that come rush time.. I'll miss the songs. (For pep and vitality and lots of fun! you can't beat the girls that you're among.) and the girls. and the general feeling of being a part of it.
9. I don't think I've ever had a summer this full of awesome. or this full of good music. I love the new musics I've been listening to. love the old records too. Billy Joel for the win.
10. people I want to hang out with more: Bop it, Krista M, michelle, danielle g, ben/sofie/dara,Angela (o wait.. cant do that. damnit!), nolly, crabaugh, jess A, AGD girls (some of them.. not all of them. ), chad, Q, a-team, family (esp tiff and sienna and I need to finally visit Avery and Mitchell!) , the lake (yes, I want to hang out with the lake. mmmm), kourtney, audrey, my only sister thats in town that i never seem to see!, rosyln, Andy/amos etc, etc etc.
11. my places are now updated. Room 916 isn't even on the list. C302 is added. and so is Moundview house(sisters place). and i can almost call 1247 1/2 a place.. just a few more wt wednesdays and it will be!'

Topic: Stiffness in conversations.

I hung out with the roommate again tonight. Her name is LB. I'm way excited to get to know her, but right now we're both kind of awkward around each other. We seem to enjoy each other but there is a definite stiffness in our conversations. I like when you know someone well enough to just talk. It takes me a long time to get comfortable with people enough to talk with complete confidence in knowing they won't respond poorly to how ridiculous I am sometimes.

other random thoughts:
Taking care of each other is important: Even if it's just providing tons of water with a straw. That's one thing I learned from my sorority in a way I couldn't have learned as well anywhere else.

death makes me want to cry. which is difficult when you're in a coffee shop. RIP Aezra (18 year old found dead right off campus)

songs: the fratellis. the pack.

so excited for Kentucky Derby bday party for my cousin shawsh's 21st! I need a cute purse, considering spending some dinero on it.
anyone know how to make a hat less floppy?
I'm going pretty subtle as compared to this.

I really was going to be productive when I went to signs of life coffeehouse the other day, hoping to get a headstart on the 3 exams I have this week. (MGMT, MKTG, abnormal PSYC)
Instead, JF was in town which meant BA, AS, and DG all came to signs and had a thouroughly unproductive night made of awesome. BA just recently joined the ning and can't stop watching vlogbrothers, yes, me and DG have made a convert!



did you know there is face recog in the new iphoto? i have been playing with that for a few hours and the only reason im stopping is that im running out of people to tag :( this is also not helping me concentrate!!

also not helping: I had to take my sister an ipod, see.. hers was dead and she kinda sucks at her job without it. she's a waiver. and then I had to spend some time taking a video of the ridiculousness and then decided i needed to try out the new imovie (way easy! good job apple!) and I made this!


I am supposed to be reading this and advising Toyota on how it should change it's management. grr.

And then organizing notes for MGMT, re-reading notes for MKTG, and reading all of psyc. geez, this is gonna take forever. what is stressing you out right now

I want to do THIS its a study abroad thing in finland and it sounds so coooool! I missed the deadline for the summer program.. but I'm hopeful I can get in still.. its worth a try, right? I want to be cultured! I learned about it by meeting a guy on OMEGLE a site where you click a button and talk to a stranger.. we have a friend in common on facebook! crazy times! and he's teaching me finnish!

I smiled through the ENTIRE first chapter. (mostly because it was OH SO FAMILIAR AND DEAD ON CORRECT! damn excuses!)

and the 2nd chapter, I thought again... regretfully... If only I had known this two weeks ago. If only I had known this 2 years ago!! For CM, for AF. neither one was that into me.

I'm excited to finish listening to it (I have the audiobook from the library.. I love libraries!) and I'm excited for the movie.

Definitions of idol:

Idols can include:

crushes-- Boys are people too, I can't let them intimidate me. Can't let myself think they are perfect. Can't think about it so much.

websites, yes.. websites.. I adore facebook no matter how much I know I waste my time on it.


Another goal of mine is to worship/value something else - my body. I need to get in shape b/c this is getting ridiculous!! not skinny, in shape.. and if skinny happens.. so be it! :)

Music is a big part of my worship. I'm listening to a CD by Sarah Bauer, Delighting in Dreams. [sidenote: I rarely buy CDs, but I don't regreat this one, twice. I wore out the first one.] It's comforting, it's beautiful. It's fun to sing to and to fall asleep too. It's just damn beautiful.

The music is church however, wasn't so awesome. hard to sing. music was too all over the place in notes that were hard to sing.

Church was good tonight, ..better than I expected.. The whole time I was there.. I was thinking about differences, similarities, time.

and whenever I check my watch in church, I remember Father Paul and how he talked SOOO fast and without fail, ended mass early.

I'm weirded out by the altar man. Altar boys shouldn't have bald spots.

I wish I was giving communion..

I liked the sermon for the most part, he used a KU football metaphor, twas impressive..

I wish I had a singing buddy for life. one who would come over and we could sing good songs. I wish that was a pasttime.. oh wait.. karaoke! lets do it folks.
