Dessen

So every once in a while, blogging comes in handy.. I know I just talked about how I win things quite often. a lot. but it's mostly because I enter a LOT of things. and I get cool stuff because I ONLY enter ones I want to win. especially if there is some effort involved.

Today - I am entering a contest to win a new Sarah Dessen book. (I get an extra entry for writing about my fav Dessen book)

Sarah Dessen is a young adult author, and her books speak to an audience younger than me.. but they still speak to me too. And I don't expect to win this - but if I do I bet it would be a good book to let my cousin borrow (She's a 14 year old who thinks reading is boring and dumb) because Dessen's are the types of books that you really get into the imagery and the ideas behind them stick with you.

Just Listen is my favorite Dessen. The part I most remember is the mix cds owen gives to the main character. And the last one. and how it was such a surprise and how he told her to 'just listen.' It's one of those books that makes you really feel that the main character is growing and coming into her own and thats something every teen struggles with. Loved it.

Love and good summer reading,
J

BEDA 12th - easter and depressing story, sorry1

My sister ape twittered about this

It's about a little girl who died. and her dad is gonna be talking about it on oprah or something.

The thing about it that makes it even sadder (if seeing a 16 month old die isn't sad enough) is that her mother blogged.

The entries I skimmed through were full of photos, positive comments, and hopes.

The hopes were the hardest. the unfulfilled statements hoping for a future.

"I'm going to have so much fun styling this kids hair!" "future DG!"

But it also makes it easy to remember her. remembering the little moments and being able to share those moments! I love when mothers blog because then you can see just how proud they are of their little kids and I just wish my mom had that detailed of records of my life - and not just oh remember that one time when I think this is how it happened...

kinda rambly and depressing blog for today - sorry about that :P

BEDA8th

I think you can tell I love photobooth. esp this setting!

One more day of BEDA
one more re-designed blog.
one more thing i hope people will want to read.
one more beautiful day.

The cutest thing OTD:
The sun is shining through the window at my favorite coffee venue. I was staring out at the row of shops when I saw a little boy pass by.
He was a toddler in a brightly colored dinosaur tee and he paused at the railing around the outside patio of the shop. He reached his hand through, slowly, delicately, to see if there was a barrier in between the railings. Finding that there wasn't, he reached through and waved quickly at the two students sitting at the metal tables, moving along back and forth with his hand reaching a few inches into the patio area. As he proudly waved, his bright smile was contagious and clearly boasted "look what I discovered!"Children are adorable.

a new favorite blogger- books and quills- i like her style and that she made me laugh in the first second I was on her page with a funny picture about how she grades her students' tests. what's your BEDA about today?

observation : I hate it when hot boys pull out the cigarettes. gross.
another observation about smoking : a boy I know was at the coffee shop I was at.. I just realized he was there about 3 or 4 hours and didn't smoke. I am proud of him.

I have a psychology test tomorrow am- about skitzophrenia, eating disorders, add/adhd, tourettes, autism, aspergers, etc etc. wish me luck

i'd like to think..

..that people would actually read this.. and get a feeling of who I am.. but thats just it.. i write it for me.. no one else..
on my old blogs i had disclaimers.. they were long and wordy and basically said.. if you dont like it, dont read it.

and ya... im still like that.. i havent changed much.. my hair is shorter and my clothes is better. I'm less socially awkward and still single.

I'd like to say I love my life right now.. but thats a lie. it could be so much better..

i just hope it will get better.. and thats all i can do .
